This trip, on this trip Joel’s brother Neil, and new OFRT inductee Mark went with Wayne, Ken, Joel, and Aaron. Mud puddles and flat tires

The OFRT was at it again, making their annual trip to Whiterock, Arkansas. The weather was nice and all was fine until Joel got a flat tire 10 miles in to the trip. Wayne's bike supply saved the day! After some shuffling around, and Joel on a borrowed bike, the group was on their way again. This seemed to solve one problem and created another, as Joel now wants a different bike.

The guys stopped for lunch at Mountain Burg. Later Aaron found a 'tastey' mud hole to play in and Joel consulted the GPS for riding directions. Apparently, the weather didn't aggree with Ken. He found it a little warm in his trousers. So, he did some quick design work and cut a pair of shorts from some sweatpants. Fancy! Do we hear HGTV calling?

Bigger and better every year

After a couple of turns around the track with the OFRT in Arkansas, Dobber decides to give Colorado a whirl. His young whippersnapper antics earn him the nickname OC (Outta Control). Every trip more gear, bikes, and ideas are added and this one was no exception. The trailer, fire pit, wood gathering, and protection from the elements were all upgraded. Meals included steaks, burgers, chili, sandwiches, pork tenderloin, brauts, and a plethura of other man food. Mysteriously, all of these foods turn 'combustible' in mountain air...

Arkansas, take three

Whiterock seems to be the winter grounds for the OFRT. Another guest appears on this trip in the form of Jim Voss, the fellow in the yellow. And Dobber joins the ride once again. Much to the wives' relief, no injuries occured this go around.

And Bruce makes four...

After 8 months of planning and healing, the OFRT was ready to hit the road again. Many an improvement and upgrade were made to ensure that this trip would out do the last. The old RV site was scrapped for a fire friendly site. And Bruce was added to the lineup.

Man down! Man down!

In the Fall of 2005, the OFRT headed once again for the hills of Arkansas. This time they took a few more folks with them. "The more the merrier" seems to be their motto. Dobber, Aaron, and Dylan joined the ride. In the photo below, Joel could be contemplating his fate as he looks out over the trees changing color. Soon after, he wrecks his bike, injuring his knee, ribs, and pride. Dobber lead the way with a broken arm. However, no one got a picture of either of the wounded for posterity. Wives were EVENTUALLY called... once the men were cleared through the ER and not in too much trouble.

The Start of Something Good....

In July of 2005 the OFRT made their first trip to Silverton, Colorado. They took the mountains by storm in their yellow shirts. Camp was set up in an RV park in Silverton, with many a creature comfort and more than enough food.

In the beginning.....

It all began with a little trip to Arkansas, just before the new year, in 2004. Here, Wayne, Ken, and Joel are pictured touring around Whiterock on their inaugural trip.
